As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the conversations that shaped this year of becoming babyREADY. What began in 2022 as a series of interviews has grown into something far more meaningful—a shared space for Queer parents and professionals to speak honestly, bravely, and without apology.

Throughout this past year, I have had the privilege of sitting with Queer parents, birth workers, clinicians, educators, authors and advocates. Together, we talked about fertility journeys that didn’t follow a straight line, pregnancies filled with both joy and fear, births shaped by resilience, and the realities of navigating systems that were never designed with our families in mind.

These conversations weren’t about perfect outcomes or polished narratives. They were about truth. About grief and celebration existing side-by-each. About identity evolving through parenthood. About the deep, radical love required to build and protect Queer families.

In a world that often asks 2SLGBTQIA+ parents to justify their existence, these conversations quietly but powerfully pushed back. They said: you don’t owe anyone an explanation. They reminded us that our families are not new, fragile, or experimental—we are rooted, capable, and deserving of care that honours who we are.

Perhaps most importantly, becoming babyREADY has become a place where people felt seen. Where listeners could hear their own experiences reflected back to them. Where future parents could imagine themselves stepping into family life with more confidence, support, and community behind them.

“babyREADY” isn’t just about supporting individuals & families through adoption, pregnancy, birth or parenting. It’s about preparing the world our children arrive into. It’s about telling the truth out loud, building care collectively, and modelling what it looks like to live authentically and lovingly as Queer families.

Representation matters!

To every guest who trusted me with their story—I say, "thank you." To every listener who felt less alone—this space is for you.

As we move forward, I carry these conversations with me. They are reminders of why this work matters, and why community will always be our greatest strength.

What we have created so far is not the end of a chapter. It is the foundation for what comes next.

becoming babyREADY continues with new episodes beginning on Thursday, January 8th, 2026.
